Time Traveler

Since the last time I was here, I traveled to China and back, my girl transitioned from 3rd to 4th grade, Spring left, Summer arrived, DOMA was struck down, and Mr. Newman & I are experiencing a week of almost odd quiet as our girl went to sleep away camp for the first time.

What continues to go through my mind are those infamous sayings such as:

"Time flies when you're having fun!"

"There's a first time for everything."

Lyla's very first Broadway show

"Time stood still."

 "Summertime, and the livin' is easy"

"Time can't move fast enough!"

"It's about time!"

And ...  time after time, I sure love being right here with you! It's wonderful to be back from spring hiatus, and boy do I love that summer is in full-swing! How have you been spending your time?

Moment of Reflection

Ever since we returned from vacation, I have found myself thinking a lot about the importance of quiet time, reflection, and introspection. Now that summer has been ushered out, and fall welcomed in, everything is back to the hustle and bustle. So in every possible way I can, I am trying to channel the softness and restfulness vacation brought me. And sometimes, it comes merely in the form of clothing for the day. Whatever I can do to keep myself reminded that deep breaths are vital, quiet moments are a necessity, and being still is of great importance - not to mention, all of those things give me the fuel to go, go, go! If it's going to be a crazy day, then why not be dressed in something that feels decadent and rich? That is what I felt with this:

Operation Vacation Prep

I'm very much looking forward to trading in my city wardrobe for resort wear as we're off to celebrate the last week of summer on the Carolina coast!

Can't wait to share our beach adventure with you ... until then, Yours Truly has a few more chores to do before we depart!

Summer Fridays!

This gorgeous summer week marks the end of July! Our summer vacation to Newport, RI is just a few more weeks away ... yay! I think we're going to grab a bite at the opening weekend of Bareburger here in the Slope -- the Avocado California Veggie Burger ... ummmm! My tootsies are calling for a new coat of Essie Geranium, too, so clearly I will listen and get myself to Pink Nails for a pedi! What about you guys?
