DEAN & DELUCA

One of my guilty pleasures is taking a stroll through DEAN & DELUCA. Not only can you get a lobster tail to go (complete with lemon wedge & cocktail sauce), but also you will find it hard to resist some of these delectable temptations:

DEAN & DELUCA offers their signature staples for purchase online (ummmmm, their gift baskets are epic), making them a fabulous gifting resource.

Talk about my happy place!

M'oda 'Operandi

House of Lavande Oceana Crystal Collar Necklace

House of Lavande: Oceana Embellished Cuff

Whether you have personally experienced a runway show during Fashion Week, or comb through the press photos in the days that follow, it comes as no surprise the accessories are as equally sought-after as the fashion.

M'oda 'Operandi knows this. And hit it out of the park.

First, their team hits the runway and captures all of the details behind each look the Designer presents.

Next, M'oda 'Operandi hosts an online trunkshow for 5-7 days. During that time, Very Lucky You puts down a deposit and pre-orders the piece(s) of your choice. The Designer creates Your New Treasure and you will receive it before His/Her collection hits stores ... that is, if your piece even becomes available in-store ...

Yes, it is brilliant.

I happened to view the House of Lavande collection today (available through June 15th!), and found myself drooling ... I'm sure it's really hard to guess which two pieces I'm obsessing over today! With the other trunkshows currently on display, you are going to have quite a time making a choice!

I mean, this girl will dream!

Mad About Gadabout

The first time I laid eyes on these divine note cards from Gadabout, I immediately fell in love. Each design can be personalized with either a monogram or full name, and are sold in sets of 25. These whimsical, charming and chic designs, each penned by the ever-talented Hanna Brooks Nation,  continue to speak volumes to yours truly:

"Out and About"

"Panache" (Delightfully Dishy's absolute favorite)

"Creole"

"Sitting Pretty"

"LBD"

I must admit, the mere description of the paper is what sent this lover of stationery to my knees:
"Note cards measure 5 x 7, and are weighted at 130lb. Envelopes fold to a square flap and are weighted at 100lb. Flat printed and vellum finished, cards and envelopes are crisp and clean to the touch. Each set is carefully tucked into a clear snap pouch, printed with the company’s signature orange. Perfect for notes on the go or from your desk at home."
Talk about a gift not only for the recipient ... but also for the sender! I am firmly convinced these Gadabout note cards are what make handwritten notes an art!

Stately Sandwiches

I am a firm believer that if you can create an out-of-this-world sandwich, you can add "masterful food genius" to your list of accomplishments. So when I discovered that Kelly Pratt has made it her mission to identify each of the 50 states' signature sandwiches, photograph them perfectly, sell the prints and provide the recipes and commentary, I may or may not have flipped out in excitement.

Kelly's brainchild, Stately Sandwiches, has tackled 12 out of the nifty-50 thus far, and I am 100% hooked. With her passion for food and design (she's currently a Chicago-based design student), this project is sure to be a national success! Make sure to follow the project on Twitter and Facebook, too.

Rainy Days and Mondays

I've been down with an icky head cold, and on this oh-so-rainy Monday, I thought I'd share the view from our room ... if you don't feel comforted by your bedroom, then it's time for a makeover!

Here are a few snaps from one of my favorite places in our nest ...

How I love a stack of pillows - not to mention these colors against our handcrafted iron bed.

Room with a view: overlooking neighboring brownstones, and on a clear day, a lovely view of Lower Manhattan.

Atop my vintage dresser which I have filled with accessories.

A picture I photographed while on the Oregon coast, and a 1950's bar tray.

Vintage ash tray and matchbooks ... bet you can tell whose nightstand this is!

My newest addition: vintage Japanese teacup and saucer.

Good reads.

I cannot resist the tapestry on this vintage hat box.

Talk about the best cold remedy!

Here's to a healthy, happy week!
